About Us

Way back in January 1981, Ron and Wendy Morgan went about forming a fun running club – and the Shropshire Shufflers was born.

They first invited Keith and Chris Ivison to join them. Keith was made Chairman and with his strong leadership abilities the running began. The club grew steadily in strength, now having a membership of over 700.

The club caters for all abilities, from the absolute beginners to experienced marathon runners. Many members enjoy social running while others regularly take part in road and fell races of various distances, with multi-terrain events also being popular. We meet on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

Throughout the summer months we organise alternative running events with country runs normally ending up with food & drinks. We also organise the Attingham Relays.

The Annual Presentation Evening takes place at the end of the year with awards in various categories including the sought after 'Cock-up Award' for the moments you'd rather forget...

The Shropshire Shufflers are affiliated to Shropshire and Midland Counties AA for road running, cross country and fell running. The club provides marshals at local events including the Seven Bridges Race.
